Whether you’re starting from scratch or reworking an heirloom piece, Blair Weiner Designs offers the opportunity to customize your own design. Here’s how the process works:
The first step is to provide as much information about the project, whether it’s starting from scratch or using elements from existing jewelry. If there is inspiration for what you are looking for, this is the perfect time to provide that information. We prefer as much information as possible upfront; from your budget, to stone preference, images of what you’re working with, and most importantly if there is a deadline you are looking to have the project completed by.
Once we receive your request for consultation form, we will be in contact to discuss the next steps. Whether it’s an in-person meeting in Chicago, or a video chat, once we have discussed your vision, we will start the design phase. This consists of visual renderings, once those are approved, we will provide a 3D CAD before the piece is made. This whole process takes about 8-10 weeks from start to finish. We do require a deposit to design at the rate of $100/hour which goes towards the final cost if the project moves into production. At the point of production a 50% deposit is required before the manufacturing stage begins.
